Pookie

Pookie came with Muffin and after seeing them together, I knew they would have to be adopted together. It's not easy to find a home that wants TWO dogs, especially when one is partially blind, but we managed! Muffin and Pookie are living in Iowa City area in a wonderful home where someone is home all the time.

Muffin

Missy

Missy was a scared little Yorkie. She would hide under or behind a chair when the rest of the dogs were playing. She was walked several times by a Junior High age volunteer... and I learned they were walking to her house so she could show her to her parents! LOL! Well, I lost my volunteer because she got her dog! They decided Missy was so sweet and in need of TLC that they adopted her.

Muffin

Muffin (now Aries) is a sweet dog who had been purchased by an older couple. They decided she had too much energy for them! This little 6 pound ball of energy was just too much for a small apartment and no yard. She had never been around children or other dogs so we weren't sure how she would do. She was adopted by a couple here in Waverly. They have two fur-children and the wife runs an in-home daycare. Muffin, now Aries, LOVES the kids, the other dogs, the stairs and of course, the periodic game of "catch me if you can" if she gets outdoors without a leash!

Daisy

Daisy, now Zoey, came to the Waverly Humane Society on July 1 2008. She was covered with ticks and her hair was matted. She was brought to us as a stray. We shaved what we couldn't brush out, we got all the ticks removed from her (her face was almost black with ticks!), we checked her for Lyme and Heartworm, gave her a microchip, all vaccinations and got her spayed. We even checked her DNA to see what breeds made this wonderful dog! We had guessed a border collie mix, and Nova Scotia Duck Toller mix... but she ended up Doberman, Brittany, Collie and Boston Terrier! She was finally adopted December 30, 2008! She lives with a wonderful couple in the Cedar Rapids/Iowa City area. They tell me she loves going for car rides. :)
