The mission of the Animal Protection and Education Charity (A.P.E.) is to help place unwanted animals, accidental litters, and adoptable animals, whose time has run out in local animal facilities, into loving, forever homes.  

We also assist humane organizations in central Iowa with trap-neuter-return (TNR) and spay-and-neuter projects, as well as educate the public on humane training and proper nutrition for their pet.  Our goal is to see Iowa become a No-kill State by 2020.  With our focus on spaying and neutering of all mixed-breed pets, we believe this goal can be attained.

TigeraCat Rescues provides rescued stray cats, stray kittens, and feral-born kittens (that would otherwise be euthanized by local humane societies & animal control) with vet care; spay/neuter, vaccinations, microchips, etc. then place them for adoption into permanent, quality homes. We promote low-cost spay/neuter clinics, Trap-Neuter-Return programs for non-adoptable cats & kittens and feral populations, and work to educate the public and other humane organizations of this viable alternative to euthanasia as a means of population and disease control. We assist Iowa rescuers & caregivers in maintaining feral-populations in a humane manner to relieve strain and free up the resources of existing humane societies & animal control officials. We are a non-profit, volunteer, & donation operated organization for the humane treatment of cats and other domestic animals.

The PAWS Humane Society is a nonprofit organization acting as a regional sanctuary for the needs of animals and the community at large in areas served by the society. We are dedicated to preventing neglect, abuse and cruelty towards unwanted or abandoned animals. We strive to encourage humane care and treatment for the animals we shelter and see that their interests and well-being are humanely protected by an aware and caring society.

WE ARE NOT A SHELTER. WE ARE A NO-KILL RESCUE. We are a small group of people with a sincere love for animals. All the animals that we have will live in a loving volunteer home until adopted no matter how long that takes. We are very committed to the animals we are helping.
