The Waverly Humane Society

Welcome to the Waverly Humane Society!

The Waverly Humane Society is the only incorporated 501c3 non-profit licensed animal shelter in Bremer County and Butler County.

Currently the Waverly Humane Society is being run from the Director's Garage. Our State Licensed Facility is a single stall, unheated garage with no running water. We would like to purchase a building that not only has heat and AC but also has running water and space for many more animals that we are currently able to house. We cannot purchase a building without money and we cannot get money without donations from caring individuals like you. Please consider making a donation or joining our Friends group.

NOTICE: The Waverly Humane Society has animals posted on PetFinder.com and many other adoption websites to get more coverage for our adoptable animals. Sometimes those sites are not as up to date as our main webpage. VOLUNTEER: We invite you to join the shelter's growing volunteer program that is making a difference in the everyday lives of the city's homeless animals. The dogs enjoy walks and getting brushed or petted and the cats enjoy playtime and grooming. Call or email to schedule a time! Mission Animal Welfare Services is a non-profit humane association serving the community of Waverly, Iowa and the surrounding rural area by finding permanent and loving homes for animals and providing community education on the care and training of family pets for the benefit of both animals and their human families.
